GRADES
- Students MUST NOT have any D's or F's on their Semester 2 (S2) Report Card to join the team.
- If a player makes a D or F on their first Progress Report (which is sent home during September of the 1st Nine Weeks) then the player WILL NOT be able to play in the games.
- Students must follow all of the EXPECTATIONS listed below:
1. Players are required to attend and give their best attitude and maximum effort during all practices.
2. Players are to listen with ears and eyes; mouths closed.
3. Response to adults is yes sir, no sir, yes ma’am, no ma’am and always speak respectfully.
4. Players are to represent AMS, your team, and family while in public and at home with good behavior and respect!
5. Players LOVE their teammates no matter the circumstance. Only positive comments should be spoken to your teammates. Negative comments at practice or during games will not be tolerated.
6. Bullying of any type will NOT be tolerated toward teammates or classmates. Bullying of any type could result in dismissal from the team.
7. Players must represent Arlington Middle School in a respectable manner. Players must refrain from unsportsmanlike gestures, talk, language, or profanity. Players will not taunt or tease players on the opposing team.
8. Players must be on time to all practices unless the coaching staff is notified PRIOR to practice.
9. Parents must also notify the coaching staff if a player needs to miss practice for a valid reason prior to practice starting.
10. If a player misses practice before a game, participation in the upcoming game will be at the discretion of the coaching staff. Repeated failure to attend practice may be grounds for suspension or dismissal from the team.
11. Players must be coachable in order to succeed. Players are coached by members of our coaching staff--Not former coaches, parents, family members, or teammates. This cuts down on confusion and eliminates a child trying to please another adult during a game setting. Players are taught certain schemes that fits into a larger team game plan. If a player does not follow the coaching set forth by the coaching staff, it could be costly to the team scheme and game plan. No one player is bigger than our team! We are a family, and we cannot succeed in football unless we do it as a team.
12. Parents and players will accept the coaching staff’s decision regarding playing positions and playing time. I understand that this is a school team and there are no guarantees for equal playing time or positions.
